Healthcare Transportation Employees Donate The Gift Of Life
Elmhurst, IL, October 1, 2010 - Every two
seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. As a leading
provider of transportation solutions to the healthcare industry,
MedSpeed has a direct understanding of the tenuous nature of blood
and the continuous need for donations. Today, the company announced
the successful result of its first-time initiative: MedSpeed Blood
Week. Between September 6 and 12, MedSpeed donated 219 units to
blood banks in 15 different locations across the U.S.
"We wanted to positively impact the healthcare community beyond
our daily work," states Jake Crampton, CEO and co-founder of
MedSpeed. "I am elated by the response we received from our team
and inspired by the fact that in just one week, our company may
have impacted as many as 650 lives."
MedSpeed employees across six states recruited family members
and friends to take part in MedSpeed Blood Week. Each office was
matched with a local area blood bank and donors went to fixed
sites, took part in blood drives and hosted mobile draws. In the
end, the efforts led to 219 donations, many of which were from
first time donors.
"MedSpeed Blood Week provided an opportunity for us to come
together as an organization and I believe it has strengthened our
company culture," Crampton concluded.
